Cooking Lab-Understanding Mother Sauces

A must class for the cook that loves a good sauce! In our Cooking Lab, Chef Vito will demonstrate the basic techniques and science of creating the 5 Mother Sauces which are the backbone of classical cuisine. This interactive demonstration class will teach the student to create different sauces from each mother sauce using a variety of ingredients.
Sauces covered during the class are: Bechamel, Veloute, Demiglace, Hollandaise, Tomato
Skills covered include making a roux, stock making, convenience product identification, sauce making, boiling, whisking, fresh herb preparation
